Bags of garbage

The photos of bags of garbage on this blog do not magically appear. I fill the garbage bag up in 15 min. to an hour and take the bag to be picked up by the city. Most garbage comes from little bits everywhere that add up to one large bag when collected into a group. Photos height and width (March 26, 2024) now match original.

Two bags of broken glass and garbage and scale.Scale calibrated for bucket, so heaver than reading.

I was at Cap St Jacques and did some cleaning. This is the same area I cleaned and made a blog about it. I made a map of the area for the blog. I did just the lower half this day. On the blog I showed buckets of broken glass (garbage) I had cleaned off the shoreline. The buckets weighed about twenty pounds each, as I recently weighed it 3/4 full at fifteen pounds.

This day I collected two bags of garbage, weighted them separately in the plastic yellow bag (yellow bag has a handel). Nine and seven pounds weight.
Nine pounds of garbage I cleaned.
Seven pounds of garbage I cleaned.

An hour or so of shoreline cleaning at RDP 200, Rivière des Prairies. Bags were relatively heavy, but I didn't bring my scale and the bags have no handles.

I took a photo of this chair the other day. I broke the sofa chair down with a knife and force. It still needs to be brought outside the park.

Over 15 pounds of glass if you look at the enlarged photo. Same as yesterday so a total of 30 pounds of broken glass taken out of the shoreline of Cheval Blanc Whitehorse rapids park.

Start of the day. CLICK TO ENLARGE. Lots of little pieces of broken glass on the shoreline of Cheval Blanc- Whitehorse rapids woods. Near the train bridge.

On the shoreline there is lots of pieces of broken glass.

A bucket I put the glass in. See June 25 Post for its probable weight.

I had no where to put the glass, so dumped it here at the entrance to the park.

Threw these cushions out of Cheval Blanc Whitehore Rapids woods shoreline.

Source of the orange cushions. Someone brought a piece of furniture to sit on.

End of day collection. Broken glass and fireplace rubbish.

Poor bugger has a transmitter attached. Broken blue glass shining in behind.

Turtle walking amongst the garbage. Shoreline of Cheval Blanc . Same place as where the furnature photo is taken.
There is a lot more cleaning of glass to be done. I just did a tiny bit.

I hate this new blogger interface because it just disappeared an uploaded photo. I will have to write everything in HTML ( not "compose") from now on.

Someone made a pile. THANKS!

Whitehorse rapids park Cheval Blanc park riverfront cleaning. two fishermen, one woman with dog, one helicopter flyover.
Bag behind the garbage bin is someone else's cleaning job.The big bin in the picture is full.
ODDity I found about 10-ten brand new "todays" Montreal Metro newspapers in the trashcan when I opened it. Who and why was this done? I took one to read on the bus-ride home. I should have brought the bunch on the bus.

June 11, 2012

Picked up the red containers of yesterday June 10, 2012 and some more garbage.
My last post I complained the turtle didn't let me get a photo of him/her. This day June 11, 2012 I found two turtles in Cheval blanc Whitehorse woods. This one had to walk on the broken glass, as the pathway has broken glass in it and the turtle can not walk anywhere else. I hope he/she didn't cut their limbs on it.
Ironically I cut my foot shortly after worrying about the turtle.

I took the old rusted metal oil barrel out of whitehorse-cheval blanc woods to the street here in the photo. It was at the illegal entrance across the trail tracks for a few years. (NOTE TO ME: I NEED A REFERENCE MAP) I think I moved it there to the illegal entrance from another place in the woods years earlier.
Also you can see the two small-medium bags of garbage I collected. The sign says $300.00 a day fine for dumping, initially I misunderstood, I thought it said $300.00 fine period. I took a few videos of the river, but need to update my computer.
NOTE: I saw a large ( 1 foot diameter shell) turtle sunbathing on a rock, but like snakes he/she didn't want to be photographed and hid (jumped in the water) by the time I got my camera out and powered up.

Duck let me take a photo. I did not get the garbage of the red plastic cups in the background. It's a job for today-tomorrow.

Summer 2012

It is now summer 2012. Garbage is very difficult to find in the greenery. Only obvious garbage can be found. I am sure there will be prenty of it still.
I purchased a new camera! A different timestamp will be on my photos now. I am thinking I will post videos to youtube. Before and after , ten second clips. The photos of bags of garbage I collect do not show the improvement I have done.

I started this project back in March CLICK HERE

The half cement pipe as I left it, in Whitehorse/Cheval Blanc woods, at the most western bog-swamp-forest along the southern east west trail.
The plants have really grown a lot in a months time.
Lots of mosquitoes.
I brought repellent, but forgot my eye protection (for smashing the cement) and had to improvise using my sunglasses.

Some hits.

More hits.

Smashed as much as I can. Needs bolt cutters to cut the rebar, and will "pave" the trail with the broken rocks.
This spot in the forest will look natural in a few years instead of 10,000. 10,000 years is my estimate for the time it would have taken the cement-rebar sewer pipe to sink into the earth or disappear.
