Bags of garbage

The photos of bags of garbage on this blog do not magically appear. I fill the garbage bag up in 15 min. to an hour and take the bag to be picked up by the city. Most garbage comes from little bits everywhere that add up to one large bag when collected into a group. Photos height and width (March 26, 2024) now match original.

Forest Fires

Forest fires are a natural part of the forest ecosystem. If we are to play God, which we can, we can put the fires out.

They talked about helicopters putting out the fires in an America park today July 29, 2014, the story made me laugh. Such a tiny amount of water (relative to the size of the fire) and so time consuming.

If the fire was really important to someone, they would have 100 water bombers working 24 hours a day, seven days a week, water bombing the fires.

A true Army of mankind's warfare Army size.

They don't because it would cost money.

A real firefighting airplane is the 415 water-bomber/Bombardier 415 , super-scooper
Provides 6,140 litres (1350 Imperial gal or 1,620 US gal) of water.

results of an uncontrolled fire in urban area
Every city should have one on standby in case of an industrial fire or major fire . Imagine bombing a fire in a city with 6,000 liters of water! A water bomber is the quickest way of getting water to the fire in a city, with no hoses necessary. example Chicken barn fire doused by water bomber..

Who would pay for this?
1a) The Insurance companies that have to pay off ( on a destroyed house) in case of a fire.
Fort McMurry cost "The estimated total cost will reach $3.58 billion,"
1b) The psychological damage to all the people who lost their homes to fire. This can't be measured. "Mental health referrals spike in wake of Fort McMurray fire. More than 20% of community seeking some sort of counselling or therapy"

2) The forestry sector loses millions of dollars of lumber.
Combined with the fact of more deforestation when people need more wood to rebuild after a fire.

3) The oil industry can't work the oil sands, can't make money, if there is a fire.

4a) Federal Government can tell the people its doing something and a massive Army of firefighter would employ a lot of people.
4 b) The countries carbon footprint. If the amount of carbon from an uncontrolled forest fire is calculated, it would be huge. A far less impact would be all the gasoline used in the many machines that would be used to put out and locate a fire(prevention).

Beginning of 2016,  many fires lately.

Add up the cost for Fort McMurry "The fire destroyed 2,400 structures, nearly 10 per cent of the city, when it ripped through in May and forced more than 80,000 residents to flee."
Ballpark 2,000 X $100,000= $200,000,000.00 (two hundred million dollars) and the psychological damage to all the people.UPDATE I was way off.The cost was 3.58 billion.or  $3,580,000,000.00
